The person behind the project

Behind every loss is a person

My name is Martin. My professional work brings together analysis, digital traces and online crime. Over time, I have seen not only how scams work, but above all their real consequences.

Some people lose a few thousand Czech crowns. Others lose their life savings. Believing they are protecting their money or completing a promising investment, some take out loans and face years of debt.

Financial loss is often only part of the harm. Victims blame themselves for missing the scam, feel ashamed in front of their family and believe they have failed beyond repair. Responsibility lies with the offender who deliberately abused their trust, not with the person targeted by carefully planned manipulation.

Scams can affect mental wellbeing too

You do not have to face severe distress alone. Reach out to someone you trust and seek local professional support. If someone is in immediate danger, contact the emergency services in your country.

Our purpose

A race we will probably never completely win

Online scams keep changing. As soon as people learn to recognise one scenario, offenders change the story, the communication channel or the technology they use.

They exploit current events, artificial intelligence, public figures and trust in banks, police and other institutions. Scams will probably never disappear entirely, but prevention can reduce the offenders’ head start.

If this project helps even one person avoid a scam that would change their whole life, its existence is worthwhile.
  1. The project began with a few simple guides to help people find their bearings after an online scam.
  2. It gradually added digital first aid and overviews of the most common scam scenarios.
  3. A register of risky and fraudulent web addresses followed, alongside information on risky apps and practical warning signs.
  4. The content grew to include infographics, videos, articles and free materials for schools, municipalities, businesses and organisations. Many of these resources are currently in Czech.

How the project works

Digitální První Pomoc is my private, independent initiative. Through it, I do not speak on behalf of my employer or any public institution.

The project’s public content draws on publicly available sources, expert information, publicly documented scam campaigns, reports submitted to the project and general principles of online fraud.

The public register of risky web addresses is based on traceable public evidence, such as warnings from authorities and regulators, security detections, public databases and publicly verifiable reports.

The project does not publish specific non-public cases, internal information or details that could identify victims or other affected people.

The project does not sell paid guides, memberships or database access. Public guides, warnings and prevention materials are free.

How you can help the project

DPP tools, guides and learning resources are free. If you would like to help the project keep going, you can make a voluntary contribution or work with us.

Voluntary support

DPP’s operation and development are funded mainly from the founder’s own resources. If you find the project useful, you can help support its continued operation with a voluntary contribution.

Support the project

Partnerships and collaboration

Help bring fraud prevention to more people. Schools, municipalities, experts and businesses can contribute through expert advice, using resources in teaching, or technical, design and organisational help.

Ways to work together

All public tools, guides and educational resources remain free.
Support and collaboration are voluntary. A contribution is not payment for a service or a condition for receiving help.

Get involved

Collaboration does not have to mean financial support

Digitální První Pomoc welcomes collaboration with experts, schools, municipalities, businesses, the media and other prevention projects. Online fraud is too large a problem for one person, institution or website to solve alone.

An expert suggestion, a tip about a new scam, sharing materials, using them in education or creating content together can all make a difference.

  • Expert consultation or content review
  • Tips about new scam scenarios
  • Working together on an article, video or infographic
  • Using materials in teaching or training
  • Media and awareness partnerships
  • Technical, design or organisational help
Voluntary support

Helping the project keep going

Website operation, technical services, materials and further development are funded mainly from my own resources. If you find the project useful, you can make a voluntary contribution towards its running costs.

Any contribution is entirely voluntary. It is not payment for a service and does not create any entitlement to a service, preferential treatment or other benefit.

All public content is free. A financial contribution is not a condition for using any content or help on the website.

Bitcoin contributions are also entirely voluntary and are not linked to any service or other benefit in return.

What matters most is that the content helps someone, reaches people who need it or enables a scam to be recognised in time. Financial support is simply an optional way to contribute to the project’s operation and development.
